How it all Started

I received a gift card for Christmas this past year. It was for Joanne's stores, because my significant other knows me well. I had seen pour paint materials before, and thought one day I would like to try it.

When I had that card, I decided to use it to buy some paints to have a little fun. I bought a starter kit, and some yarn. Once I tried pouring one painting, I loved it. I then found instructions online from a page on Facebook, and after that, I asked to be added to their group.

I have since, learned and experimented. Experimented is more like it. I have bought so much paint and keep running out of canvases.

I have painted plates, and all the available used records I had. I then bought more canvases and more paint.

I can't stop, every painting is different and unique. I love to see the waves of color move and mingle on the surface, the canvas comes alive. (or other surface).

The first thing I had to learn came from my husband. I told him I was afraid to ruin the paintings. He told me that it is abstract art. Abstract means everything goes, and art means that it has a mind of its own. I can aim to have the scene come out one way, and the paint actually decides where it wants to go.

I can see that my paintings are like me. They are not prefect, they might have flaws, but those flaws make it unique and wonderful. Happy little accidents, and wonderful disasters, just like us.
